🔭 Improvements to the equipment database
During April I shifted my focus heavily to the new equipment database again, and this is why there are no significant new features in other areas of AstroBin this month.
I worked on making the old and new databases co-exist in AstroBin in a way that's transparent to the users, so that the transition will be seemless, even tho it will take months for the actual migration of data, and of course some of the items will never be migrated (think of DIY items or items that cannot be positively identified, used by people who have left the platform).
This means that the technical card and search engines now support the new database (which is still empty for now).
I am now ready to begin the first phase of the migration and I'm going to roll it out to beta-testers on Monday.

AstroBin is proud to help cement the national identity of the Ukrainian people by offering the website in their native language.

If you're an existing AstroBin user from Ukraine, and you are currently using the website in English or Russian, simply use the language switcher at the top of the website to select Українська. Visitors from Ukraine who are not signed-in will see the website in Ukrainian by default.
