Agena Astro is proud to be North America's highest-rated astronomy shop. Agena was founded in 2003 and has grown to be a robust team with one common goal: to unite people under the night sky. Since then, Agena Astro has grown to carry over 5,000 products including telescopes, mounts, cameras, and eyepieces while earning the reputation of having the best customer support and fastest free shipping in the amateur astronomy industry.

We like to say that we’re the biggest astronomy shop in Canada, which is a little like bragging about being the tallest dwarf. The reality is that we’re a small, family run business. What we really want to be is the best place for astronomers and astrophotographers to find help getting the right equipment.

We’ve enjoyed the hobby for a while and when Ken and Bev, the original founders, decided they were ready to retire we were delighted to help them. We drew a 10-minute radius around our kids’ school, found a suitable space, and moved the business up to Edmonton.

We’re having a lot of fun getting to know you and finding new ways to help people enjoy astronomy and astrophotography.

Since founding Sierra Remote Observatories (SRO) in 2007, we have been striving to make it the premiere destination for automated astronomical data collection and imaging, satellite  tracking, and space communication.

After an exhaustive search, we chose our site for its unique combination exceptional seeing, darkness, mild weather, and unique accessibility.

At SRO we offer fiber optic internet with 1 Gbps (full duplex), with higher speeds and dedicated fiber available. All critical systems are redundant with Starlink internet backup, on-site industrial generator and dual encrypted/secure VPN.

We have 1 arcsecond seeing, with sub-arcsecond seeing following astronomical twilight. SRO has 290 clear days per year, wind speeds of only 1 mph, very dark skies (>21.80 SQM), no summer monsoons, and rare thunderstorms. Our location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at 4610 feet keeps us above the central valley inversion zone without being so high as to incur brutal winter conditions. We are accessible all year round, being only one hour by car from the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport.

We have full time 24/7 technical support with an on-site machine shop. Most repairs are performed on-site and we can ship more complicated issues within 24 hours, reassembling your telescope upon their return.  Technical support is provided 365 days/year and the owner lives on site.

Welcome to StarGeezerStuff! If you're looking for an astronomy-themed gift or just something for yourself, we offer quality T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, Coffee Mugs, Mousepads, Posters, Pillows, and Laptop Sleeves, and hope to be adding more products and designs in the future!

Shipping is FREE in the USA, and we do ship internationally at a small additional cost (calculated at checkout).
